When Conina and Nijel arrive looking for Rincewind, Coin makes them forget about him so that they can live in discworrld. If Sourcery was published first or second, then I would probably have enjoyed it a lot more than I did.

I remembered the boy wizard Coin as the reason why I disliked this book on first read but this time it became apparent that it wasn’t his fault at all, it was Conina and Nigel and Creosote, the pointless threesome that seemed to exist solely as a running joke without driving the narrative. He is directed to enlist other wizards to fight the invaders and demolish the palace to build a wizard’s tower.
Or maybe it’s just that I like to feel like a character’s adventure is completely self-contained in a single Discworld novel. A group of Sojrcery Morpork wizards arrive and attack Al Khali.
I’m out of options. Sourcery was the Disworld few weeks ago, I seriously injured myself. There are some great laughs and I love the idea of a tower for every magician when they get wild.
But the story gets slow and a little boring as it goes on. That’s what this book felt like to me. Remember what I said above — I am only some bloke on the internet widely speculating with no knowledge whatsoever. March Learn how and when to remove this template message.
